Minisha Lamba also known as Minissha Lamba is an Indian actress who appears in Bollywood films. Her notable films include Yahaan, Bachna Ae Haseeno, Kidnap, Shaurya and Well Done Abba.

Minissha Lamba was born on 18^th January, 1985 in Kashmir. Minissha Lamba who stands 160 cm tall has carved a place for himself and a niche in the audience.

She belongds to New Delhi based Punjabi speaking Sikh family. Her father is Kewal, was the general manager of the Grand Palace Hotel in Srinagar and her mother is Manju. She had a brother named Karan. She herself has lived in Kashmir for two years.

She was successful in completing her schooling from Chennai, Tamil Nadu, as well as from Srinagar’s Army School. In 2004, she majored in English with honours from Miranda House, University of Delhi.

Minissha Lamba’s long term ambition was to become a journalist, but she loved modeling.While studying for a degree in Delhi, she was offered to represent ad campaigns like LG, Sony, Cadbury, Hajmola, Airtel, Sunsilk etc.

She got her first break unexpectedly, when she was auditioning for a Cadbury commercial in Delhi, she was approached by Bollywood director, Shoojit Sircar, who signed her to act in his film Yahaan. She was nominated Filmfare Best Female Debut Award for this film. She has subsequently changed her first name to Minissha.

Since the movie was successful in launching her career as an actress, she re-located to Mumbai and has starred in over a dozen movies. In 2008, she acted in Siddharth Anand’s film Bachna Ae Haseeno, which stars Bipasha Basu, Deepika Padukone along with Ranbir Kapoor in the lead roles. This movie is produced by Yashraj Films.

Her next major role was in the Shyam Benegal film Well Done Abba in 2010. It is a film about a father-daughter relationship starring Boman Irani as her father. Well done abba was highly acclaimed at Cannes Film Festival especially Minissha Lamba’s Performance.

She has also played supporting roles in Corporate, Rocky: The Rebel, Anthony Kaun Hai, Honeymoon Travels Pvt. Ltd., Anamika, Shaurya and Dus Kahaniyaan.

She is now a zizzling actress and her bikni shoots in movie Kidnap and sensuous scenes with Imraan Khan in the same movie turned her image as a most glamourous actress in bollywood.

In 2011, she attended Cannes Film Festival for the premiere of Woody Allen’s Midnight in Paris. After her flight landed in Nice, France, she realized that one of her bags was stolen. On her way back to India, she was detained for 16 hours at Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport when she walked through the “green channel” with undeclared jewelry. The custom officials claimed to have found jewelry worth 5 million Indian Rupees. However, Lamba claimed innocence stating they were given to her by a jeweler in Mumbai for the purpose of showcasing them at the international film festival. She also claimed ignorance about the rule that a passenger carrying any jewelry abroad needs to obtain an export certificate by declaring the jewelry, which would allow the passenger to bring the jewelry back to India without paying any custom duty.
